The Camping Journal

In the beginning of the film Valkyrie, why the Nazis attacked by another Base the Air Force bases Nazi?
Am I missing something? I PSNVideo see in Valkyrie and the beginning of the film in which Tom Cruise is writing in his diary War and he comes out and asks her to pack more and leave the camp, why German aircraft begin to attack their camp? It makes no sense, I thought that Hitler wanted more troops to help fight it instead tries to kill one of their own military bases?
there is no clear reason why the attack in that scene. It was to show what the war was and also to explain injuries tom cruise with his eye.
