Best Hiking Michigan
Best park in Lake Michigan for walking / swimming (on the east side)?
My friends one to take a two-day trip to Lake Michigan this weekend. What is the best place for hiking and swimming? Good scenery is a must, and preferably an area with fewer people. While on the Indiana Dunes Nat'l the lake, but apparently you can see from Chicago and a prison of some points (yuck!) Thanks!
Go to any of Warren Dunes State Park or State Park Saugatuck Dunes in southwest Michigan. Both have excellent beaches and great scenery. In Saugatuck Dunes, you can take a buggy tour through the dunes. It's a lot of fun. By the way, Indiana Dunes State Park is nice, too. You can view the Chicago skyline in the distance if is a clear day. I live near that park and go there all the time. I do not see anything from a prison from the park. The prison is located in Michigan City, and I've never seen from the Park of Dunes State.
