Hiking Lamar Valley
Dunraven Pass, the Hayden Valley and Lamar Valley in Yellowstone?
Can you access these areas at all? Are said to be north of the border closure the closure of the north-south highway on the east side of the park, including trails. Is there a way to reach these areas in the south or east? We come from the Grand Teton (South) area. I can not believe it would close all access to the largest viewing area of wildlife in the park for an entire summer. It's absurd. Any detours to reach to these areas, within a reasonable walking distance hiking is desperately needed, since our honeymoon is in 2 weeks, and plans to spend much time in that area.
Dunraven far as I know, Hayden and Lamar are all open. North Rim locks refer to the northern edge of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. The trails around the area are closed as fat as I know. check here and ask the question in a message and get a clear answer. http://www.yellowstone.net/forums/index.php
